Introduction STEM Racingとは

STEM Racing（旧 F1® in Schools）は、Formula 1 が支援する 6～19歳向け STEM 教育プログラムです。

学生たちは、自ら設計・製作したミニチュアF1® カーでレースに挑戦しながら、エンジニアリング、チームワーク、プロジェクト管理、ビジネススキルを実践的に学びます。

F1®を題材にした学びを通じ、STEMへの関心を高め、モータースポーツにとどまらず、自動車、航空、宇宙、製造、テクノロジーなど幅広い分野でのキャリア形成を支えます。

これまでに、世界で65カ国以上、約29,000校以上、180万人以上の学生（うち35％女性）が参加しています。

こうした学びを通じて、日本の次世代に課題解決力、イノベーションマインド、挑戦し続ける力を育みます。

STEM Racing (formerly F1® in Schools) is a STEM education program supported by Formula 1, designed for students aged 6 to 19.

Students design and build their own miniature F1® cars and compete in races, gaining hands-on experience in engineering, teamwork, project management, and business skills.

Through this realistic learning environment centered around F1®, the program nurtures interest in STEM fields and provides opportunities that lead to careers in motorsports, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, technology, and other industries.

To date, over 1.8 million students (35% of whom are female) from more than 29,000 schools across 65+ countries have participated worldwide.

The program aims to cultivate problem-solving abilities and a spirit of innovation in Japan’s next generation through STEM education.

STEM RACING JAPAN Ambassador STEM RACING JAPANアンバサダー　小松礼雄氏からのメッセージ

このたび、日本でのSTEM Racingアンバサダーに就任することができ、大変光栄に思います。STEM分野の科目を学生たちに届け、皆さんの心を動かすような形で関わることができるSTEM Racingのようなプロジェクトに携われるのは、私にとって本当に情熱を持って取り組めることです。自分が日本で育っていた頃に、このような取り組みに参加できる機会があったらどれほど良かっただろうと思います。

ヨーロッパに渡り、エンジニアとしてF1で働くという夢を追いかけた者として、こうして自分の経験を共有しながら次の世代のSTEMへの挑戦を応援できる機会をいただけることに感謝しています。9月のシンガポールで開催されるSTEM Racing World Finalsには、すでに日本から3チームが出場することを知り、とても嬉しく思っています。皆さんを応援するのが楽しみですし、日本におけるSTEM Racingのさらなる発展にも力を尽くしていきたいと思っています。

小松礼雄 -Ayao Komatsu-

B・A・Rで2003年に車両ダイナミクスエンジニアとしてキャリアをスタートし、2004年にタイヤエンジニアへ転身。ルノーではパフォーマンスエンジニアからレースエンジニアへ昇進。ロータスではロマン・グロージャンと共に9回の表彰台を獲得。2016年ハースF1チームに参画後、チーフレースエンジニアやエンジニアリングディレクターを務め、2024年1月よりチームプリンシパルに就任。

Starting his career as a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at BAR in 2003, he transitioned to Tire Engineer in 2004. At Renault, he advanced from Performance Engineer to Race Engineer, and at Lotus, he secured nine podiums with Romain Grosjean. Since joining Haas F1 Team in 2016, he has served as Chief Race Engineer and Engineering Director, becoming Team Principal in January 2024.
